Free community presentations in New Zealand
Cliques, crews and catfights
Cliques, crews and catfights, the 2011-2013 national project of Soroptimist International of New Zealand, is aimed at raising community awareness of the issues contributing to girls’ involvement in violence and anti-social behaviour. The more we know, the more we can help.
Soroptimist International of New Zealand is generously making it possible for communities throughout New Zealand to receive two presentations delivered by Dr Donna Swift at no cost to the community. These presentations are:
(1) Sugar and Spice and Not so Nice, Welcome to Girls’ World
This presentation is designed for those raising adolescent girls. (It can be tailored for an audience involved with younger girls.) The presentation highlights troubling issues and offers suggestions to help our girls negotiate these challenges. It requires 1.5 hours and is ideally suited as an evening event for parents and the public.
(2) Understanding Girls’ Violence
This presentation provides a preliminary overview of girls’ violent and anti-social behaviour for those working in situations involving teenage girls. It is designed to introduce approaches that enhance strategies for prevention and intervention. It requires 1.5 hours and is ideally suited for staff of schools, agencies and services.
